During this sewing and fashion class students will be introduce to the Art of Garment deconstruction to then be able to create a full up-and refashion a collection by learning how to maximize the use of these textiles. During this semester’s intensive program, students will have up-cycled between 1-5 items, depending on skill level and difficulty of the project (can include garment, hats, jewerly, shoes).
We work with pre-loved clothes and discarded textiles.
Students must bring 4 to 10 pieces of old/discarded garment in adult size (denim jeans, denim jacket, denim shirt, men bottom up shirts, etc) to use during the class. We will have some of these materials available at the class as well. All other sewing materials and sewing machines are included for this class.
